We're Getting Married!

5 PM..

Brandon and I had planned to go out to dinner, so naturally when he got there I was ready to go. We began driving and after 15 minutes of driving I was confused because dinner was only supposed to be about 3 minutes away. I questioned him and he told me we were going to dinner at a restaurant on the other side of Mt. Lassen. We continued to drive through one of my favorite places. We winded up the hill talking about all of the awesome times we have had up there and as we came to Lake Helen, he reminded me that's where we stopped on our first trip together for a picnic. He pointed out that we should stop and take a replica picture of our first picture together. We stopped and walked up to that special little spot where we had our first pre-hike picnic. We parked, everything looked the same as it had that first day. As we walked toward the lake we noticed someone had made a huge heart out of about 50 large rocks right next to our spot. It was perfect! He said Dest, I love you so much. I know you probably saw this coming, but I can't imagine living without you, and as he pulled out the perfect princess cut diamond ring in a platinum prong setting and white gold band that i'd always wanted: he said Will you marry me? Of course I screamed and said absolutely! We hugged and kissed for quite a while and as he slipped the ring on my finger we turned around and saw a breathtaking sunset. It was perfect.

The other day brandon and i did two long hikes into the wilderness of lassen. It was perfect, the weather couldnt have been better, it was one of the most beautiful days ive ever seen. Lassen is one of my favorite places to go. It is an active volcanoe, so first we hiked to the top where you can look inside and see the boiling water and sulfurite lava-a must see! It's amazing how it works! Next we hiked down to the most beautiful remote waterfall, you hike about a mile in and the next few miles your hiking downhill with 6-7 waterfalls during your hike..and at the end..a massive bright waterfall!! Hiking is one of our favorite passtimes..but we cant go to lassen anymore because its packed with snow...

recently we went to eureka for brandon's uncles wedding, which was beautiful.

we spent the duration of the weekend with brandons parents in a cabin in trinidad.

We had sooo much fun! The weather was perfect and the fresh air was exactly what

I needed. We hunted for agates ( or to brandon "treasures" ) and spent alot of time

relaxing on the beach, like I said it was exactly what all four us of needed. I can't wait

to go back there!

We took 101, the higway on cliffs above the ocean-it was

beautiful. It was the long way home but we traveled through

fort bragg, lots of old towns and hit hwy 20 to williams to say

hi to family.

Hello. As im sure you can tell..im new at this. It is intriguing..like an adult myspace almost. Lately alot of things have been going on. Most recently was brandons birthday. We had quite an eventful week; first eureka to visit family and then all the way to reno to see brooks and dunn..well worth the 6 1/2 hour drive. The tickets for the reno events center were given to us free. Afterwards we stayed in the Circus Circus hotel, playing arcade games for a while of course before heading off to bed. We woke up the next morning and drove all the way to redding so i could be at work by 1! But it was an unforgettable few days!
